the view from the top of 'The Mound' above the National Gallery

The is the view looking westwards along the castle walls from the Mound, just above the national Gallery buildings. In the distance are the spires of St Mary's Cathedral. The small overhanging turret on the castle wall is a known as a 'bartizan' and is perhaps more common on French and Spanish fortifications.
