On the Meadows

The Meadows is a large grassed park to the south of the city centre. Much of the area was once a loch, the 'Burgh Loch', which was drained in the 18th century. The park now is grassland, crisscrossed by paths lined with cherry trees. This etching is a view across the park looking East towards Arthur's Seat.
